chapter revenue sharing opportunities


  1. Registration Desk:
    • Provide staff and services for the registration desk for the entire conference.
    • Handout conference packets and Name Badges.
    • Provide information or assistance to the conference attendees.
    • Direct Speakers to the Bell Room.
    • Other duties as may be required from the desk location.

      Suggested minimum number of volunteers per shift:

      Sunday, Noon - 5:30PM -- 4people
      Monday, 7:00AM - 4PM -- 6 people (4 people PM)
      Tuesday, 7:00AM - 10:30AM -- 2 people
      Volunteers should arrive at the registration desk 15 minutes prior to shift for set-up.

      Payment $1500

    (Collaboration between two chapters for this option is acceptable.)

  2. Attendee Packet Assembly:
    • Put together conference attendee packets. Fold brochures, Box packets/bags for distribution at the registration desk.
    • Recommended number of volunteers should be at least 10 persons.
    • Packets will be assembled on Saturday afternoon for approximately 2 hours. Team will meet Sam at the Registration desk. Specific times will be set up with the chapter president.

      Payment $500

  3. Assist Foundation Director and Council with Baskets, Raffles, and Prizes Drawings:
    • Work with the state foundation director in the SHRM booth with the chapter baskets and the selling of raffle tickets during the time that the exhibitor's area is open.
    • Work with the conference emcee and state council at the evening social with the prize drawings, auction, and raffles. 4 to 6 volunteers would be appropriate to work in shifts of two at a time in the booth while the exhibit hall is open and 2 in the evening at the social. The volunteers that are working during the day in the exhibit hall will report to David Hershey in the SHRM booth when the hall opens. The evening volunteers will report to Sam at a time and place to be arranged.

      Payment $500

  5. Speaker Services:
    • Greet speakers in Bell room and be sure he/she knows where the room is that they will be speaking in.
    • Assist and initiate setup and maintenance of the speaker's rooms.
    • Introduce the speaker.
    • Hand out and collect speaker evaluations after each session.
    • Be sure speaker has received speaker gift from council.
    • Package evaluations for each session into a marked packet to be picked up by the State Council Director or the State Conference Director.

      There are two opportunities for this task. Monday Speaker Services and Tuesday Speaker Services will be available for the chapters.

      Numbers of volunteers needed are as follows:

      Monday Speaker Services:

      Concurrent Sessions I -- 10:00AM - 6 Volunteers
      Concurrent Sessions II -- 11:15AM - 6 Volunteers
      Concurrent Sessions III -- 2:45PM - 6 Volunteers
      Concurrent Sessions IV -- 4:00PM - 5 Volunteers
      There should be one volunteer in each of the sessions and one volunteer in the Bell Room for each session. Volunteers should report to the Bell Room ? hour early for the first session and 20 minutes early for each of the other three.

      Payment for Monday Speaker Services is $1000

      Tuesday Speaker Services:

      Concurrent Session V -- 9:15AM - 6 Volunteers
      Concurrent Session VI -- 10:30AM - 7 Volunteers
      Again, there needs to be one volunteer in each of the sessions and one volunteer in the Bell Room. Volunteers for Session V should report approximately ? hour before the session and for Session VI, 20 minutes before the sessions.

      Payment for Tuesday Speaker Services is $500
