Committee Reports:

Director's Report:
Cliff reiterated the goal of the State Council is to improve the registration process for next year. Cliff reported that the SHRM Strategic Conference was excellent. The presenters were at the top of their field. The Bookstore here at St. Cloud is better than the one at Strategic Conference. It's a smaller conference, 600 attendees, however they didn't have a marketplace. Next year will be in Palm Springs, CA in September 2008.

Pam Green Regional Report:
One chapter still doesn't have their by-laws in. Leadership Conference, rooms are booked. If you haven't registered, please do so and send Pam an e-mail if you need to get a room, and SHRM will help you find a room. There is a group that wants to break off and create their own chapter in the Twin Cities area. Discussion of having two chapters, and giving options to them instead of affiliating. This new group feels their culture is different, which is ok. There are challenges though, and SHRM's goal is to educate. The whole satellite concept is new, and there would be more work for the main chapter. Membership growth is going good, and Pam thanked everyone for helping.

Discussion on Meeting Attendance: Twyla Flaws did mention that the State Chamber teleconferences. Discussion on video conferencing; conference calling. Volunteers were asked to research conference video and call, and are to report back at the December 2007 council meeting.

Chapter News:

The Chapter news was postponed until the next meeting as the key note speaker begins at 8:00 a.m.
