Membership Update










The Membership Director is a new position recommended by SHRM for all state 
councils.  The main goal is to strengthen the ties between SHRM membership and 
local chapter membership.  


Position summary for the Membership Director:





"Provide leadership to membership activities in chapters, particularly assuring 
that chapter membership directors have access to resources necessary to recruit 
at-large SHRM members to chapters, local chapter members only to SHRM, and 
non-affiliated HR professionals to both organizations.  Provide leadership to 
member engagement/retention measurement and strategies of chapters."





2007 North Central Regional Membership 
Goals/Overview



Objective


To partner with state councils and chapters on increasing membership recruitment 
and retention in the state, with a focus on two areas:


  •  Encourage at-large members to join a local chapter


  • Encourage local-members-only (LMOs) to join SHRM



Goal


Create state-specific strategies in support of SHRM's overall strategy and 2007 
membership goals.  The initiative's success will be measured in the following key 
result areas as of 12/31/07:


  •  Increase SHRM membership in the region by 5.5%

  •  Increase in-chapter SHRM membership in the region by 3.0%

  •  Increase member retention in the region by 0.5%
